Cooking Pizza in Whistler B.C.

We have had quite the adventure in Whistler.  We arrived back in 1995 early December, only to find that there was no place to stay.  Everything was rented and everybody was waiting to start work.  In the meantime everybody was trying to be the first up the ski slopes.  Before we knew it, we were welcomed in by the good grace of a couple that would become our total immersion in Whistler Culture.  And, through the years we grew up with Whistler.  From the explosion of Creekside and the future development of the main village and riding the wave of post Olympic fever, we have met some of the most interesting people and truly experience Life in the Coastal Mountains.  I believe it was this foundation that spurred a deep seated need to contribute our food and culture in our amazing community.  In fact, in my earlier years, I had spent lots of time in the kitchen with my mother and I especially enjoyed experimenting with flour and cooking pizza.  This passion and love affair with pizza grew with time.  My wife and daughter would soon be the recipients of my pizza passion and we would continue to share this with our family and friends.  We loved the cold winter nights, and after long days on the slopes, we would put our Hot Pizza on our dinner table.  And, as spring would arrive in our town, and the snow would melt, each day, I longed to be able to cook outside.  I had visions of a wood fired oven.  I imagined what it would be like to cook pizza on an open fire.  I decided that the time had come to find an oven.
